Thank You for Celebrating 40 Years of Renewal, Reflection, and Connection

On July 12, 2025, our hearts were full as we gathered with over 200 friends, supporters, Sisters, and retreatants to celebrate 40 years of Lindenwood Retreat & Conference Center. What began as a vision of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ has become a sacred space for rest, renewal, and connection for thousands, and this night was a beautiful testament to that legacy.
The evening began with a moving Mass celebrated by Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades, whose homily invited us to reflect on the question, “Who is my neighbor?” His words set the tone for a heartfelt celebration of community and compassion.
As the sun set over the Lindenwood grounds, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner, a lively wine pull, and an exciting silent auction. The energy in the room was electric—but perhaps the most inspiring moments came as we honored three remarkable contributors to Lindenwood’s mission:
- Delores Evans, recipient of the Saint Katharina Spirit Award
- Cheryl Kaper, recipient of the You Made the Difference Award
- The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, recipient of the Enduring Partnership Award
We were also honored to welcome Bob McCarty as our keynote speaker. His wisdom, humor, and heartfelt message reminded us all of the power of accompaniment, discipleship, and hope.
Thank you to everyone who made this milestone celebration possible—whether you attended in person, contributed to the silent auction, pulled a bottle of wine, or simply held us in prayer. Your presence and support are helping ensure that Lindenwood can continue to serve future generations seeking peace, purpose, and presence.
With gratitude,
The Staff of Lindenwood Retreat & Conference Center
We can’t wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable celebration in 2026!
