Scholarship FundWe welcome all individuals, parishes, congregations and non-profit organizations that feel called to participate in our retreats, conferences, and programs regardless of financial limitations. We encourage those groups with financial constraints to apply for a Gift of the Spirit scholarship.

Scholarships are awarded based on the unique financial circumstances of your group and the availability of scholarship funds at the time of your application. A maximum award is limited to no more than half of the cost of the program. We ask the recipient parishes, congregations and non-profit organizations to invite your members to contribute to the Gift of the Spirit scholarship fund during a second collection or other approved solicitation as a way for you to “pay it forward” to others seeking education and enrichment at Lindenwood Retreat and Conference Center. In this sense, your energies and resources will flow outward like ripples in a pool of water, extending the Gift of the Spirit.

Our ministry is rooted in the Core Values of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ and their foundress, Saint Katharina Kasper. These values: Openness to the Spirit, Community, Simplicity, and Dignity and Respect for All, flow from joyful service to all, especially the needy and underserved. In keeping with the values of the Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ, it is Lindenwood’s desire to encourage equitable access to those seeking spiritual growth and renewal. It is in this spirit that Lindenwood’s Gift of the Spirit Scholarship Fund was created to offer financial assistance to those who might otherwise be unable to attend a retreat, conference, or program. Our scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need.

In order to assist as many people as possible, scholarships will be limited to one program per year per person. The amount awarded to an individual will be limited to no more than ½ the cost of the retreat, conference, or program to a maximum of $300.00.
