It's called SHADES because Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) women come in different SHADES but also our "Shades of Meaning." Shades of meaning distinguishes the small, subtle differences between words. When we study shades of meaning, we learn to better express how we are feeling or what we are thinking.
